Five nights out

The Open Air Theatre

In Regent’s Park, behind Baker Street station (Bakerloo, Metropolitan, Circle, Jubilee, Hammersmith and City), there’s the outdoor theatre in the park.

From late spring to early autumn they present a number of jolly things: a comedy play, a musical, some Shakespeare, films, stand up comedy, things for the kiddoes…

There’s nothing nicer than sitting on a (plastic) seat, cocktail glass (plastic) in hand, watching the sun go down and being entertained.

In recent years their productions have been a bit odd and not too great, but they can be wonderful.

But two warnings:

  • if it rains you get wet. No umbrellas please. The production only stops if it is so bad the actors are in danger (and it happens)
  • lots of school parties, especially for matinees
