In the UK, Xmas 2024 started one day after Xmas Day 2023. Some companies advertise on tv for savings schemes, shops have after Xmas sales and we know many people who buy cards and presents at this time and store them away, to save a few pennies.
TV shopping channels used to have Xmas In July, but now it’s June. We see there are already a couple of tv movie channels showing 24 hour Xmas films. Some restaurants are doing Xmas Day bookings. So, better late than never…
In the UK, we have a bank/public holiday at the end of August. This celebrates the end of summer/beginning of autumn, back to school and the start of the run up to the festive season. You won’t find shops with their Xmas departments until the end of August, but then they sell out quickly.
