If you have never seen the BBC comedy series Ghosts, it concerns a married couple who inherit a haunted mansion. The wife dies, but recovers and, as a consequence, can see and talk to the ghosts who inhabit the house.
It ran for 34 episodes.
Like many comedy shows, eg The Office, it was taken on by the USA and dragged out for everything you could imagine and more.
So far, the USA version of the show has run for 94 episodes. One series there is nearly as long as the entire run here.
The BBC here in the UK does show the American version. We noted the introductory credits of a recent episode:

I wonder what all these variations of producer actually produce…
