Thunderbird 6

Despite the first film bombing at the box office, it was decided to make a follow up.
Why?
Needless to say, it was not a success and marked the end of that incarnation of Thunderbirds.
Why is this film so boring?
The premise is ridiculous: Jeff Tracy wants Brains to make Thunderbird 6. He doesn’t know why or what it should do and it’s not wanted or needed, so why?
Brains does many mockups. Jeff rejects them all. Why? He doesn’t know what he wants, so how does he know what he doesn’t want?
If Brains has ideas for new machines that serve a purpose, mightn’t they be of use later?
Why does Brains destroy the models?
What about all the work he’s done?
Why is Jeff such a slave driver?
Why do all the characters have weird laughs?
