Pantomimes

Essential traditional elements include:

  • bright costumes
  • songs
  • dreadful jokes
  • “behind you” and “oh no he isn’t”
  • audience participation and singalong
  • smutty jokes to keep parents awake
  • men in drag
  • women in drag slapping their bare thighs
  • a baddie you can boo
  • animals (not real)
  • slapstick

Casts include:

  • someone famous and American you thought was dead
  • a ventriloquist
  • a magician
  • a famous tv comedian you thought was dead, or at least didn’t need the money
  • stars from reality tv you have never heard of (so the posters tell you who they are)
  • stars from soap operas you have never heard of (so the posters tell you who they are)
  • pantos at local theatres will have local celebrities (like a tv weatherman or weatherwoman, person)
  • not The Krankies any more as they have retired

The story will be structured so that each ‘star’ gets a period to do their act.

The female lead will be showing lots of leg to keep the fathers interested.
