Five iconic London things we miss…

Old Kentucky

Not a drink, but the restaurants with those illuminated signs.

Looks like King’s Road

We remember coming to London in the 1970s and enjoying Old Kentucky. They were everywhere. There was one we liked on Irving Street (just off Leicester Square) and another at King’s Cross.

It was basic stuff, like an up market Wimpy, lots of pancakes we think.

Since they disappeared, other similar places have come and gone. Garfunkels, Cafe Rouge, Pizzaland. Prezzo is the current one.

Not great food but it won’t kill you.
