The original idea with a Yorkshire was that you would eat it as a starter and that would reduce your appetite for more expensive foods eg meat.
Now, it’s a mainstay of Sunday lunch.
On its own there’s not much to enjoy, but with nice meat, vegetables and gravy it’s a perfect extra and very different in texture.
Some restaurants, and supermarkets, use a larger Yorkshire as a bowl with meat, vegetables in gravy inside.
