Five plays/musicals that may never die

London is plagued with musicals, on everything from Alan Turing to The Third Man, classics to jukebox, Only Fools And Horses to Henry VIII.

These below have been running a long time. So many of them can be seen anywhere in the world.

We don’t have much good to say about any of these, except they are not Cats, but you may enjoy them. Prices can be eye watering upwards.

Les Miserables

It’s a popular opera, all sung and pretty long.

Nice tunes do come along every so often, and the first half is good.

Lots of availability.

Mamma Mia!

If you’re young and female and an ABBA fan, you will love this. Maybe it’s better than the film… Lots of availability mid-week.

Hamilton

It came with a lot of hype and delays. Tickets are readily available at all prices.

Dishonourable mentions: Wicked (for squealy girls only), The Book Of Mormon (funny by swearing), The Lion King (Disney), Matilda (noisy), Phantom Of The Opera (pseudo-opera).
