Do you recognise this man?

If you do, you must be of a certain age.
He was, for a short time, very famous. He is Uri Geller.
Geller came to prominence in the early 1970s, appearing on UK tv with Professor John Taylor in tow (Taylor was the Brian Cox of his time, a tv friendly scientist, but serious). Taylor was there to make Gellar’s act seem scientific and believable.
Geller had been a model and a performer in Israel. On tv, his act involved lots of talking, saying he could do mystical things but he didn’t quite know how. The mystical things included bending metal, especially forks, spoons and keys, reading people’s minds, starting stopped clocks and other paranormal nonsense.
