New Year’s Day
It’s a public ie bank holiday, less observed than it was.
People will have hangovers and restaurants, that may have been very busy until late, or early, the night before may well not be open as there will be cleaning up to do.
There will be places open. It’s possible that Sunday opening hours will be observed. Sales will still be on, or starting. It could be busy later in the day.
There will be transport, though services on trains and tubes may be limited to a Sunday service, or closed completely for works.
