Not The Beatles

The Apple Boutique

When all the world looked to King’s Road and Carnaby Street for fashions, The Beatles opened a boutique on Baker Street, home of Marks and Spencer. It was on the corner of Baker Street and Paddington Street.

It looked fab.

It lost money at a scary rate, and barely lasted seven months.

If you want to visit it today, walk down from Baker Street station and you will find… it’s long gone, and what is there now (an estate agents last time we looked) looks vaguely similar but it’s not.

Oh, The Beatles Store at the top of Baker Street, near the park, has no connection with the fab four. And Sherlock Holmes never really existed.

But it’s not so far to get to St John’s Wood and 7 Cavendish Avenue, where Paul McCartney has a home.
