Not The Beatles

Savile Row

Famous for tailors, it’s the place to go for a fancy suit.

Just off Regent Street and sort of parallel to it.

Number 3 was the Apple HQ. It’s the place you see in the film Let It Be. It’s where The Beatles did their last concert, on the roof, right?

It’s just an ordinary building, offices, and that’s fine. You may find people hanging around outside, writing graffiti on the walls and steps or hoping to catch one of the lads, though that would seem very unlikely.

You can’t go on the roof. It’s probably not safe, and probably never was for so many people. Apparently there is really nothing inside that reminds you of the group. But then that was more than 50 years ago.

What they performed there was not really a concert. They ran through a few songs several times, so it was more like an outdoor rehearsal than a planned concert. Yes, there was an audience, kind of, certainly people were listening, but they could not see what was going on, and it wasn’t really The Beatles as they had enrolled Billy Preston by then.
