Things to do in the area
This historic area is probably worth a visit anyway. There is so much to see and do.
There’s the river, Tower Bridge, Hay’s Galleria, HMS Belfast, Borough Market, a walk along the Thames to Tate Modern, The Golden Hinde, the Clink…
There are many genuinely old pubs and churches, Southwark Cathedral, the Monument.
There are several theatres, including the Bridge, Menier Chocolate Factory and Southwark Playhouse (head towards Elephant and Castle).
