Is London safe?

Just as a side note, we were at the theatre last year. It was a play about American Presidents (at The Old Vic, one of our older institutions).

The people sitting next to us were American, it turned out, from Sacramento. There was a daughter and mom, who seemed very nice and just wanted to enjoy the play and eat popcorn, and the moaning father.

He was grumbling about Donald Trump, not liking him very much as he was a ‘bit of a Commie’ (actually, ‘Commie f*cker’, but no matter). The guy was also saying he hated the UK (or “f*cking England” as he called it), complaining that he had had his guns confiscated before he had boarded the flight to the UK, and how unconstitutional was that? This was in the USA, right, but still England’s fault?

Well look, there are strict gun laws for flights and we have very strict gun laws here. Gun crime is minute. We don’t have mass shootings (I mean, things do happen, but not every week like some countries). You don’t need a gun. You can’t carry a gun here.

Just don’t.

I was surprised the guy had not been arrested.

And let’s not get into the Constitution stuff
