Wherever you live, whatever you do, I am sure that you have been affected by the virus. For some it’s worse than others. Here in the UK, we are going into a full lockdown again from Thursday, for a month, or indefinitely, or who knows, but anyway…

Some people have a tough time, especially those like me who live alone. We may not see anyone to have a decent conversation with for months.

So here’s a thought for you. Make contact with someone, give them a surprise, show that you were thinking of them. Look through your address book, or your e-mail list or whatever, and find someone you haven’t spoken to for a while, even your ex, and send them a note, or give them a ring.

I am. It helps me, and them maybe, and I genuinely want to know how they are.

The death has been announced of James Randi, age 92.

Randi had an act that was escapology with some magic, much like a Canadian Houdini. He was a regular with Alice Cooper’s stage show, beheading Cooper each night.

He was also a skeptic. In the 1970s, when Uri Geller and others were claiming psychic powers, Randi set out to expose them for what they were. In fact, he always said that he hoped one day to find someone with genuine powers.

There has been a lot on the news about the government ‘losing’ tens of thousands of recrds relating to virus cases due to lack of Excel knowledge (the kind of mistakes my pupils would not make).
