Living at the seaside was fantastic for radio fans. You could pick up so many stations from the continent, Luxembourg of course but stations from Holland, France and more. Voice Of America came in, sometimes clear and sometimes not.
The 1960s had the BBC battling against the pirates. Auntie Beeb rarely played pop records and the off shore pirates filled a hole.
Our local station was Radio 270, parked off Scarborough then moving to Bridlington. It was incredibly clear, and you could see it off the coast.

There were a few famous presenters, including Roger Scott and Paul Burnett.
