Canterbury
In darkest Kent, by train from Charing Cross, St Pancras International and Victoria, but it’s very easy to get to. Journey time roughly 50 minutes on the fast trains.
The cathedral is worth a visit, for its history, and there are old ruins and wobbly shopping streets.
We particularly loved the local museums.
