Dates
Brits do their dates wrong. It is so confusing.
We use the date format dd/mm/yyyy (or dd/mm/yy). So, 27/05/2024.
It makes sense. It matches how we say dates, ‘the 27th of May 2024’. It’s in order from smallest to largest: day – month – year.
As a computer programmer, I would want yyyy/mm/dd as that’s easier to process, especially for sorting. Most of the world uses the system we use. Japan uses year – month – day, so good for them.
When we travelled to the USA and had to complete forms (and still do for ESTA), even they had dd/mm/yyyy formats, because even the American government realised it was a better and more sensible system.
