People do have issues with this show.
It is carefully edited. There are acts where you see the performer do something, cut to P&T watching, cut back to performer and things have moved, items are in different hands, it’s not the same. Some dodgy move has been edited out, or a different attempt at the trick is now being shown.
For a show where the whole point is trying to figure out how the trick is done, not showing all the complete performance is not satisfactory.
Someone once mentioned to me that the produers know how every trick is done. It is possible one of them may slip a hint to P&T before hand along the lines of “X uses Y”. This would not be honest too. I have no idea if it happens, but it’s possible. I have never seen any disclaimer about this on the show, but seeing whole shows is difficult here.
During the COVID era, pre-recorded tricks were sometimes used. Again, camera effects could have been employed, who knows?
I’m rather doubting these last two actually happen, but I can’t say either way. And it’s funny how friends of P&T seem to do better, almost like P&T could choose who to be fooled by.
