The only show I can see that is on reasonably regulary as part of a series, an occasional one, is Penn & Teller Fool Us.

This started in around 2011 as a UK show hosted by the odious Jonathan Ross, a big pal of P&T. It then moved to the USA and P&T’s theatre home in Las Vegas.

The magicians start with a short introduction. Many seem to have sob stories. P&T have included younger people, magicians from foreign lands and even non-males.
