After they disbanded, Clark himself moved on to other things. He wrote a stage musical which starred Cliff Richard. He bought the rights to some tv shows, including Ready, Steady, Go! He made documentaries about the band and how wondeful they were which have aired on UK tv.

Clark has more recently said that they were never a real band, that it was him and the others were just paid musicians. He employed them, pure and simple, and paid them a wage (hopefully it was generous, but who knows). That’s his view and we assume there were contracts and agreements about it all. It would certainly explain why Clark himself takes all the praise and attention.
