King Crimson II

What to listen to…

Well, In the Court of the Crimson King, An Observation By King Crimson, the first album is a must. But, try to track down an original vinyl version with the pink Island label. The sound is so warm and cosy.

We love Islands, and Red is a must.

Later albums are not essential.

One album we play a lot is Earthbound.

It was recorded live on a cassette recorder (a good one) and sounds rough, but really captures the spirit of the Islands band. Only wish we could see Ian Wallace’s drum solo.

But our number one suggestion for KC fans is…

McDonald and Giles (Ian McDonald and Michael Giles, plus friends), the KC that might have been, true to the five track spirit and with Peter Sinfield doing words. A brilliant album.
