Tati seems to be somewhat forgotten these days, and that’s not right. He did not make a huge number of films, six, depending how you count them, and though they were critical success, they were financial failures. Tati struggled to finance his projects. His film “Playtime” took nine years to complete. All are worth finding out.
Also recommended is the 2010 film “Film Tati No. 4 (The Illusionist)”. This is an animated film, script by Tati (he died in 1982), about a magician and his daughter.
